Our Story

Aaron, Savy, & Tig Hester welcome you to Hester’s Hollow, a family forge nestled in Sulphur, Oklahoma. Here, we dedicate ourselves to crafting high-quality, timeless blades and leather goods that honor tradition and stand the test of time. Founded in 2021 by Aaron Hester, a former line medic with the 82nd Airborne, our business is a labor of love, rooted in heritage, resilience, and a commitment to quality.

After returning home to Oklahoma, Aaron’s journey evolved from gunsmithing to bladesmithing, drawing upon both his skills and deeply held values. Today, our family—Savy, Aaron, and our daughter Tig—works together to ensure that every product reflects the craftsmanship and care we invest in each detail.

Beyond being a family operation, we are proud to be Signing & Spectrum friendly in our operations and classes. As a Deaf Neurospicy household, we are committed to making our forge accessible to all communities. We want to ensure that everyone who desires to learn has the opportunity and support to do so. Please reach out with any questions you may have.

At Hester’s Hollow, we believe in creating goods that serve a purpose and hold meaning. Every item we offer can be customized to suit your needs, ensuring that you and your family can rely on it for years to come. We are honored to share our craft and dedication with you, and we look forward to becoming a part of your story through the pieces we create.

Our Values

Fair Pricing

We agreed to pay Aaron $35/hr to stand in 170 degrees and that's what we charge for labor, add that to the cost of your handle material and steel x  20% and that's your highest price.

Knowledge Should Be Free

Whether or not you buy our knives or tools, please ask any questions you have about the materials or methods used.  We want you to be confident in what you are buying.

Everyone's Different

From customizing Ulus for arthritis, hunting knives for missing fingers, or maybe you need a slower paced knife class, we've got you. Let us know how we can make your experience smoother.

We Make Tools

We can make your tool pretty, but we make them to be used. We don't make what we wouldn't use ourselves (spears, kukris, and the experimental builds aside), so take care of it, and it will take care of you.

Purpose Forward

Whether it's using a wet grip handle for your tackle box or changing your bevel for more precision, let's make sure that what you order is everything you need from it.

People Matter

We know these are not cheap, but we stand by the fact everyone should be able to afford a good tool.  We have done payment plans, barters, etc, please don't hesitate to work with us on financial barriers.

Aaron’s background as a former line medic instilled in him a profound sense of resilience and the critical need for reliable tools capable of withstanding challenging circumstances, a principle directly reflected in the durability and practicality of our products. Furthermore, we are deeply committed to accessibility and inclusivity, striving to make our forge and classes welcoming to everyone, including those who are Deaf or Neurospicy, fostering a supportive environment where all can learn and create.
